PROJECT CURRENTLY FULL – WATCH THIS SPACE FOR THE NEXT TUESDAY DJ CLUB

DJ School UK would like to offer you the chance to learn the skills required to become a DJ, artist and performer using some of the most up to date professional DJ equipment available in our studio in Leeds City Centre.

Whether you are a beginner or have some experience DJing you are welcome to take part in this project. For the more experienced and able we would like to develop you to produce new concepts and ideas in DJing by supporting you to produce new musical material.

Each week we will introduce another element of DJing varying the creative skills such as mixing, scratching, performance and artist development. We will then support everyone who takes part to work towards a performance for friends and family.

We are looking for young people aged between 11 and 17 years old who are committed to the project and who will take part in all the activities. The course is free.

You can learn how to:

• mix records, CDs and digital music

• scratch/be a turntablist

• set up, use and maintain equipment

• perform in a Leeds City Centre music venue

• use the sessions as part of your Arts Award

• every young person involved will leave with a CD of their work

The sessions start on Tuesday 23rd September 2014 and run every Tuesday evening (except half term) at 6.00-7.30pm for 11-13 year olds and 7.30-9.00pm for 14-17 year olds. The project ends with the final performance showcase at noon on 22nd Nov at The Wardrobe music venue.
