Right at the bottom of this page is the original advert we used to recruit young people who wanted to take part.

  • Do you want to learn how to DJ?
  • Do you want to perform in a professional nightclub?
  • Do you want to perform at the Breeze International Youth Festival?
  • Are you aged 13-19?
At DJ School UK we’ll teach you the skills and knowledge you need to become a DJ and performer. You’ll use professional industry-standard DJ equipment in a brand new studio. You’ll plan and rehearse a performance in a working nightclub then show off your skills at the Breeze International Youth Festival on Briggate, Leeds. We’re looking for 20 young people aged between 13 and 19 years old to be committed to the project. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or have experience, you can take part. This course is free You can learn how to:
  • Mix records, CDs and digital music
  • Scratch/be a turntablist?
  • Set up, use and maintain equipment
  • Produce and take part in a rehearsal in a nightclub
  • Perform your group production on Briggate in Leeds
  • Use these sessions to complete parts of your Arts Award.
Every young person involved will leave with a CD of their work and an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. The sessions start on Tuesday 12th March 2013 at 6.00pm to 7.30pm for 13-15 yr olds and 7.30pm to 9.00pm for 16 – 19 yr olds. Sessions then run every Tuesday in term time until Tuesday 21st May when we will host our dress rehearsal in the nightclub to perform to friends and family. The project then ends with our final performance on Briggate on Saturday 25th May. To register your interest contact us now.
