Management Team

As the main aims for DJ School UK are to boost life-skills, employability and a love for music – we have sourced a team of directors who have slightly different expertise from the range of careers the music industry has to offer. This means whatever path a student wants to take, we have someone in the team who can offer personal experience and advice.

Dan and Jim

Jim Reiss and Dan De Lissandri are the core team of DJs and tutors who set up DJ School UK and run most of the tuition sessions. Click on either name to see more details on their roles and specialities.

– They were both self-employed in the music industry and both kept bumping into each other in their sideline of youth and community work.

They thought it wise to try out this new venture – and it works.

The incorporation of the social enterprise took place on 3rd may 2013 – and just look how far we’ve come!

Tim Utah (Utah Saints)

Tim (Utah Saints) is a Leeds local and dance music legend. He has generously agreed to help the students of DJ School UK with industry expertise and DJ seminars. Tim supports our mission statement and wants to help young people push the art of DJing forward.

Rachel Modest

Mrs Rachel Modest is our 4th Managing Director – as head of GCSE music at Armthorpe School, Leader of Wakefield Community Gospel Choir, recording artist, songwriter and soul sharer she is an ideal addition to our team. Her skills in music are only surpassed by her abilities as an educator.

Khaliq Meer

Khaliq Meer is the 5th to join our management team. With 20 years experience at the BBC from presenting to editing, coaching and mentoring, he really tops off the whole skill set we want to offer our students.

Khal doesnt make his own music so no mix cloud or soundcloud links here – just serious industry knowledge and professionalism. Thanks for the input Khal.
