The Beat Team
The Beat Team produce original music using scratching, juggling, samples and pads. Every Thursday evening at 6pm (after DJ Club).
Beginners, other musicians and vocalists are welcome.
At Beat Team sessions we avoid copyright material. We use beats and sounds we find, record or synthesize to create completely original music.
We do this as a team by scratching, looping, juggling, cue-drumming and using sound effects.
This new art relies on us using modern DJ equipment as instruments. We call it: “controllerism.”

When working with children and young people of all ages they are patient, supportive, encouraging, use clear and informative language when giving instructions, and always put the joy of music-making and music-giving at the forefront of what they do. They are a valuable asset to our hub and to the city as a whole
Thank you so much for running the DJ school, J**** had absolutely loved it!
Without your skills it would be impossible to run projects and even harder to access difficult to reach and vulnerable young people… I assure you what you are doing is thoroughly appreciated, respected and invaluable to all parties concerned. Again can I emphasise mine and young people’s appreciation for what you do and I look forward to all future work with yourself.
Cheers for my lesson. It was so helpful and it has given me the confidence to properly get going on this! Looking forward to next lesson very soon!!!
